Three days to step back in time and experience the magic of the Renaissance: the Festa della Contea is one of the most anticipated events of the summer, a unique opportunity to discover the village in its historical, fascinating, and engaging guise.
Every evening, from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm, the historic center comes alive with unforgettable experiences: the Hosteria del Viandante, for sandwiches, beer, wine, traditional sweets, and the ever-present Hippocras. The Mercato della Contea, an evocative journey through crafts, art, themed stalls, and ancient trades. The historical reenactment, which recounts the meeting between Antonio da Sangallo the Younger and the Orsini family. The Mensa del Conte, a convivial dinner in the square, not to be missed.
At the heart of the festival is the Palio dei Rioni, the spectacular contest between Pitigliano’s four historic districts, seeking the favor of Count Niccolò III Orsini. The streets of the village will be enlivened by jesters, acrobats, musicians, soldiers, drummers, archers, dancers, and extras, recreating the atmosphere of the era and offering an unforgettable spectacle for all.
