In the heart of the Upper Maremma in Tuscany, just a few minutes from Pitigliano, lies the Villa Corano winery. Here, Stefano Formiconi — a pioneer of Maremma viticulture — has, over the course of his forty-year career, selected and cultivated the native and international grape varieties best suited to this land with its strong winemaking vocation.
A picturesque cypress-lined avenue surrounded by vineyards leads to the winery. Inside, the cellar includes the fermentation area and the barrique aging room; outside, a large communal table beneath a majestic oak tree invites guests to taste the estate’s products while enjoying the beauty of the surrounding landscape. The same experience can also be enjoyed indoors, in the newly opened tasting and meeting room.
Skillfully combining tradition and technology, Villa Corano produces white and red wines of great character, evoking the typical flavors and aromas of the region. These wines are featured in prestigious wine guides, but above all, they are cherished by consumers and connoisseurs alike.
