The play Nives is inspired by a novel that captivates and surprises, keeping the reader gripped from the first page to the last. At the center of the plot is the story of a woman who, after the sudden death of her husband, finds herself alone on her property, accompanied only by a lame chicken, strangely attracted by the Dash detergent advertisement on television. This curious situation prompts Nives to call Loriano Bottai, the town veterinarian. An intense and uninterrupted dialogue develops from this phone call, during which fragments of lives lived, old grudges and truths never spoken emerge. Amid distant memories, lost loves and faded opportunities, the protagonists face revelations that are difficult to accept in old age.
The play features Sara Donzelli and Sergio Sgrilli on stage and is based on the novel of the same name by Sacha Naspini, an internationally renowned writer from Maremma. With his unique style, Naspini chronicles a rural culture that is as fascinating as it is raw, bringing to life stories steeped in emotional intensity.
