Alessandro and Irene, the managers of Agriturismo Le Sorgenti, are convinced that tourism is everyone’s right, therefore the Ministerial Decree. 236/89 at their farm is not a “dead letter”. They have in fact tried to make this an inclusive structure, making the apartment on the ground floor, the Cinghiale, also suitable for guests with mobility difficulties, without giving up the authenticity of the place.
The farmhouse, made up of two independent apartments, the Cinghiale and the Volpe, is an ancient nineteenth-century farmhouse that retains all its charm and rurality. The construction is entirely made of tuff, travertine, wood and terracotta. Inside, each apartment has two double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, a living room and kitchenette equipped with crockery, linen, toaster, electric kettle, mocha, electric oven, fridge and freezer, flat-screen television, free Wi-Fi . Outside, a large garden with games for adults and children, two barbecues, a wood-burning oven, sun loungers with parasols surrounds the farm. In this green space an area has been dedicated to the butterfly garden. The love of Alessandro and Irene, environmental hiking guides, for nature led them to grow flowers particularly appreciated by pollinating insects, in order to help these little “friends” of the environment. Guests can thus relax and admire the perfection of the beauty of species such as the podalirio, the swallowtail, various types of vanessa, etc.
An opening in the hedge leads to the swimming pool, fed by the springs of the property, around which the orchard of ancient fruits develops. These are twenty fruit trees of ancient native Tuscan varieties, selected thanks to Irene’s passion for archeology and nature.
Furthermore, there is no shortage of olive groves and vineyards that so characterize the landscape of the Tuscan Maremma. Guests can walk among the cultivars of leccino, canino and leccio del corno or among the rows of DOC Maremma red grapes (sangiovese, merlot, cabernet sauvignon).
