After three years, by popular demand, one of the key events organized in the Città del Tufo is back. Six appointments between 12 and 21 February: parades, allegorical floats, masked processions, dinners and musical performances, as well as street food stalls, inflatables for children and photo contests curated by the photographer Andrea Mearelli. All of this takes place mainly in the Old Town and is free of charge, excluding dinners and musical performances.
Schedule
It starts on Sunday 12: departure from piazza Nenni (at 2.30 pm) of the parade of allegorical floats and masked processions with arrival and party in piazza della Repubblica where a heated marquee is set up, the location where the dinners and the shows on the bill are held . The first dinner of the Carnival is scheduled for Thursday 16 at 20:00; followed by live music with Tre Pazzi Avanti.
Friday 17, again in Piazza della Repubblica, the celebrations begin at 6 pm with a magic performance dedicated to the little ones; at 8 pm dinner show, then live music with Vincenzo Bencini and vintage party from the 70s-80s-90s with Mr. Kikko dj: themed clothing is welcome and the masks of the characters who marked that era will be rewarded.
More entertainment for children, Saturday 18 at 6.00 pm, and dinner show at 8.00 pm; from 11.00 pm great masquerade party with prizes for the best costumes.
Sunday 19, at 2.30 pm, the procession of allegorical floats leaves from Piazza Nenni to reach the party in Piazza della Repubblica where you can have a snack; at 8.00 pm the last carnival dinner is scheduled with live music by Route 74.
Grand finale on Tuesday 21st (Shrove Tuesday): the parade of allegorical floats starts again from Piazza Nenni (2.30 pm) and takes place in the new area of the town. There will be one last party at the end of the itinerary, still in Piazza Nenni.
